In the last weekend of August the Summer Celebration event is taking place in Italy. After a year break this party is back from August 27th to 29th. The entrance will be free and the location is the beach of Comacchio! Also the line-up looks nice with Aquila from Belgium, Nazca from Brazil and lots of Italian live acts and djs like Jimmy9 and many more. Have a look at the flyer for more information.

The Ghent city festival is coming up fast now. So also the Freestyle sessions are coming up. Friday July 16th we have the kick off for 11 consecutive nights. All info can be found on www.dacru.be/freestyle.

After a one year pause the Full Moon festival is back in full force. This year it will happen from July 21st to 28th at the old airbase in Wittstock at about an hour drive from Berlin in Germany. Plenty of Dacru action on the impressive line-up: DigiCult, Ephedrix and Aquila are all playing on Saturday July 24th. Other sounding names on the line-up are Talamasca, Vibe Tribe, Perplex, Mekkanikka, Burn In Noise, Headroom, Avalon, Ital, Ticon, S-Range, Fatali, X-Noize and many more. There will also be a special Parvati Records stage to celebrate the 10 years of existence of this label.

Flyers are out there for a new and exciting chapter of Nova's Incident open air. The 2010 edition will happen at the same location we have grown to cherish as one of the finest ones in Belgium! From Friday May 28th to Sunday May 30th the Spacedivers open air event is happening near the city of Graz in Austria. On the line-up we find some Dacru artists: Aquila & Bonas (for the first time in Austria!) and Sufi will be bringing their sets. For more information on the event you can always click here.

Saturday May 22nd Aquila will be playing a live act at the Durum Deluxe II party aka Pita's birthday party. This event will take place in Ghent, Belgium. There will be 2 area's, but also a limited amount of space. To find out where it will be, contact Pita! ;-)

The next upcoming event for Dacru is a special one! During the Ghent city festival we will enjoy daily free electronic sessions. The venue is the 'Rabot', a historic monument where we have held some nights before. Friday March 19th is the date for the DeepBlueSea 6th Anniversary party in Kiel. It will be the first time for Aquila and Bonas to play in this northern region of Germany, close to Denmark. Dacru Records will be presented at China's most important online radio that is dedicated to electronic music. Go to www.udancecn.com. We will get a full two hours during the Magic Garden Concept show. They will talk about the label, the artists, play some single tracks and also the Essentials mix will be aired in full. It will be on air on Shanghai time, that is Belgian (Central European) time minus 7 hours. Below is some more info about the exact times. Thursday should be the first chance to catch the show. The local Belgian radio station Crazy FM will be airing Essentials Vol.1 mixed by Dj's Oonah & Bonas on Sunday January 31st. You can hear it between 23h and midnight Belgian time during the program 'Underground Alert' hosted by DJ Domi Rè. That's at 105.7 FM for Ghent and 105.2 FM for Eeklo.

Sunday August 23rd the Aquila guys are organising a small and cosy open air gathering to spend your lazy Sunday afternoon, from 14h till midnight. The party got the name 'Afternoon in Trance' and is happening at Bar Motard, Vaarstraat 4 in Kaprijke. That's in the province of Oost-Vlaanderen in Belgium. Fusion festival is one of the largest and best organised alternative music festival in Germany, and Europe for that matter. The edition of 2009 will happen from June 25th to 29th. On the line-up of of the psytrance stage we see Aquila and Bonas! A perfect opportunity to go and see the guys present their full album 'Gain Control' in Germany. They will fill the timetable with a live act and dj set from midnight to 03.30 in the night from Saturday to Sunday. Aquila live act (track playing: Ephedrix vs Aquila - 10 Miles Out)

With volume 5 coming soon, the Isratrance crew has upped a review of the previous one: Orientation Vol.4. Read it below:

 

It’s time for another compilation from Dacru Records concentrating on pure melodic full on. Most of these tunes sound massive, and when I mean massive I mean deep rolling bass lines with lots of shifts, huge melodies and a general feeling in some tracks of a newer Astral Projection. Lots of remixes here too, 4 of the 10 tracks are remixes. With most I don’t even know the originals, so I can’t go into a lot of detail here. Peace Maker’s remix to U-Recken vs. Nitro’s Eternity (T3), for example, is so massive and melodic that I can’t imagine the original being better. But, as I said, I never heard the original so I can’t really judge. What I like about this compilation is the fact that it manages to be melodic without becoming cheesy. The CD can bring a smile on your face, yet still retains a great psychedelic feeling throughout the tracks. The mastering brings this home too, Johannes Reigneir (Silicon Sound) has done a terrific job here, and his expertise in the full on realm can clearly be heard in the loving digital perfection he’s performed here. It was compiled by DJ Nemesis, who did a good job of making this sound like a DJ set. The tracks do have pauses between them but overall it still feels like a set. The prominent names here like Alternative Control, Gataka, U-Recken & Fatali should give you an idea of what this is all about. I’m not really going to point any favourites here because all the tracks have a certain edge to them. In this day of Israeli full on going bad with vocals and stupid experiments that don’t really help the music it’s refreshing to hear a full on compilation that does the job RIGHT. This is what this kind of music is supposed to sound like!

Recomendation:  It all boils down to this. Do you like your full-on with an edge, big basslines, great melodies and lots of drive to it? Don’t hesitate and get this. It has the edge you needs.

New Year's Eve is coming up soon! One party we have to inform you about is the Sinneswandel event that will take place in Winterberg, Germany. It will be organized in a very nice venue called Die Grube by two party crews being Tranceforce and Raum & Zeit. They decided to invite Aquila for a live act and Bonas for a dj set. They will fill the timetable slots from 3 till 6 in the night. Also worth mentionning is that the decoration will be provided by the Belgian Omicron team, known from our Nova's Incident events. A video from the Comsic Combination party turned up at YouTube. It's a sort of compilation video with fragments of Aquila and sufi playing their live acts. The party took place in the city of Leiden in The Netherlands. Watch out for volume differences.

Another excellent event happening Saturday November 29th: Sheep Satellite by Cosmic Combination. It will be the first time Dacru artists visit the city of Leiden in The Netherlands and the honor is reserved for Sufi and Aquila. Sufi will present his full album to the Dutch crowd and the first 50 visitors will receive a Dacru cd. For more info have a look at the flyer's front and back or visit www.cosmiccombination.net.

They can't seem to get enough from Aquila's Alice track over at YSE. They have now licensed the track for the second time. It will appear once again in the Map of Goa Vol.5 compilation compiled by Slackjoint. The release date for this is October 31st. From September 5th to 7th the Roenaissance music & art festival will be happening in the north of Italy near Bolzano. The organisation is in hands of Caserorgasmen and some partner crews. ESCAPE Records is new label french created during the Spring 2008 by ADN (Dj / Manager) and Chai (Dj / Collaborator). The policy of this new music label is akin to the styles trances at all genres, while keeping its own identity after the french electronic culture.

This year, for the first time, also our friends from the Amanita Muscaria crew are putting on an open air event. It will happen from Friday July 25th until Sunday the 27th. The location is a very nice piece of nature in the south part of Belgium. The line-up offers a long list of Belgian artists ranging through all different styles of the psychedelic spectrum. Participating artists from our label are Aquila, Sufi and Oonah. More info can found on www.amanitamuscaria.be.

One week ago the Ecoexistence festival was taking place in Portugal. Dacru sent out Ephedrix, Aquila and Sufi to participate in this friendly festival at an excellent location. Early December last year the Belgian party promoter Back 2 Basics released a promo cd to go with a big event they organized. This cd was compiled by DJ's Firaga and Danny K. Tracks were provided by S.U.N. Project, Talamasca, Basic, Poli vs E-Fact, Double Impact, Bitkit and Dacru members Ephedrix (with Prototype) and Aquila (with Destructive Ends). The first weekend of July, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th, the Heron festival is taking place in Belgium. Like last year the festival grounds are situatued in Lommel. Line-up wise you are being spoiled with 2 stages covering 4 psychedelic trance styles. A few international names and lots of Belgians is still the concept. In August it's time again for our annual open air event in the most beautiful part of Belgium: Nova's Incident VII open air! This year we are going for the weekend of August 23rd and 24th to strike down in our amazing location near Liège (Belgium), Aachen (Germany), Maastricht (The Netherlands) and Luxembourg.
Not only the location is excellent, but also the line-up came together pretty well. Lots of live acts on the bill with Alternative Control (Serbia), Hydraglyph (South-Africa), DigiCult, Ephedrix, Aquila, Sufi, Melorix and Fraktophon. The reason for the event this time is to celebrate the release of two full albums at Dacru. First we'll have the DigiCult album 'Out Of This World' to be released March 6th and then we have the Ephedrix full album 'Far Away' due for release April 17th. Obviously both of them will be performing at the event while others on the line-up include Aquila, Sufi, Gnome vs Sjama'Dan, Jibaro from The Netherlands and Zefer from Ireland. This year the Dissonant festival will run for 3 days (March 21st, 22nd and 28th). Kairoo records will be hosting the psytrance stage again which will be at Stuurboord/Hangar 26 this year. On Friday March 21st there will be a special night around Belgian live acts and Dacru records will be quite well represented there with DigiCult, Aquila and Sufi. On Saturday April 19th we'll see another Dacru party happening outside the Belgian frontiers. We are teaming up again with the Trance Mafia crew from Amsterdam in The Netherlands like we did about 1,5 year ago. That party then was a big succes and it called for a repetition. Of course we'll also repeat the bus trip leaving from Ghent and Antwerp in Belgium. If you would like to take part in that, then just write an e-mail to eskimo@dacru.be.
The reason for the event this time is to celebrate the release of two full albums at Dacru. First we'll have the DigiCult album 'Out Of This World' to be released March 6th and then we have the Ephedrix full album 'Far Away' due for release April 17th. Obviously both of them will be performing at the event while others on the line-up include Aquila, Sufi, Gnome vs Sjama'Dan, Jibaro from The Netherlands and Zefer from Ireland. More event details will be passed on later.

Today, Thursday March 21st, is the official release date for the Ahimsa benefit compilation! So get ready to support the project and buy your copy. A good option is to order it at Wirikuta, Psyshop or Saikosounds.

The new edition of Trancer's Guide to the Galaxy has been released recently. In the 2008 version you can find 30 in scene country profiles where trance is most effective around the globe. As is in the scene worldwide, there is a lot of diversity in the psy-trance genre. More and more the scene is splitting up into four or even five pieces. People tend to only visit parties with their favorite style(s). However, one massive event in 2007 proved, despite all the difficulties, which we are all part of one scene, and nothing can break that apart.
2007 showed us that our scene is rapidly expanding. But the rising costs and the big number of parties in Belgium forced promoters to ask for higher entrance rates, or to set up collaborations, in order to split the investments. Also our problems in the past with the authorities forced us to organize events in a more legal way, what also caused more investments.
Nevertheless we are spoiled and every weekend we can choose from three or four parties, all focusing on a particular style. Kairoo Records and B2B, based in Antwerp, focus on full-on. They both hosted rooms/stages on two of the biggest dance events, with up to 20.000 visitors. The veterans have grown to appreciate the progressive style nowadays.
The well-respected crews of Purple Snow (with founder R’Deem) and Smiley Tribe are focusing on minimal/progressive and have
brought the biggest names to our country. In Ghent, one of the two trance centers in Belgium, progressive is also emerging in smaller club events.
For many years we had Kairoo Records providing us quality releases and EPs. In 2007 they released the well-accepted debut album of Bitkit called Logical. Nowadays Dacru Records and Suntrip Records are taking over. 2007 proved that they have more ambition than just organizing good parties. Dacru Records released the compilation Orientation Vol. 3, a very well accepted release. For 2008 we can expect a lot of this label, with the second release of Digicult and the debut album of Ephedrix.
Also newcomers Aquila and Sufi will release a full album later in 2008. On the darker side of trance we can expect the debut album of Wicked Hayo on Night Oracle Records. Suntrip Records is probably the only melodic Goatrance label nowadays on this planet. In 2007 this Belgium/France combo resulted in the rerelease of the classical Dimension 5-Transdimensional album and the debut of rising star Goasia. For 2008 they announce albums of Dimension-5 member Ra, Filteria and Merr0w. Furthermore I can only hope that we will see the rise of a mind blowing Belgium progressive act, but the future looks promising.
The biggest event in 2007 should have been the fifth year of existence celebration of the Kairoo Records label. Kairoo Records invited some of the major promoters in Belgium to host rooms with full-on, progressive, oldschool/nuschool/Goa, dark and chill out. The government, due to safety issues, canceled the event after it had started already.
The authorities ignored even a positive court advice, so the evening ended with hundreds of people invading the streets in Antwerp. But the event proved that there is still unity in our scene, and despite the big loss, we hope that Kairoo Records will emerge from it foundations.

The Ahimsa compilation is released for the benefit of India. This means that all the earnings from this project will go to two organizations that we have selected. The first one is the international Human Rights Watch. Half of the profits will go to their campaigns in India. The second organisation is the Belgian Sevapur. For both organisations you can read some words of information below.


Human Rights Watch

Human Rights Watch (HRW) is an independent non governmental organisation which opposes violations of basic human rights. HRW investigates and exposes human right violations and tries to hold abusers accountable. They as well challenge governments
and those who hold power to end abusive practices and respect international human rights law.

Sevapur

Sevapur, located in Tamil Nadu in the south of India, is a small village built in the 60's. Lea Provo, a wonderful Belgian woman with
a mission for a better world, gave the poorest of thepoor 'castless' people a life in dignity through the birth of Sevapur. Now over 140 families are living in Sevapur; houses and streets are built and schools and a social education center are running as never before. Half of the profits of this compilation will go straight to the children of Sevapur.

The next stop for Aquila is the Amygdala party, happening in Belgium on Saturday December 22nd. The party is presented by Purple Snow in cooperation with Kairoo records. There will be 2 rooms: a psy area and a progressive area. Other artists on the line-up include Bitkit live, Phasid, Moushka, Mary Jane, Firaga, TripTronic, Ishtar, Whizz and R'Deem. Certainly one to check if you are up for some pre Christmas partying!

Our new compilation 'Ahimsa' will be out in some weeks. It will be a charity compilation for the benefit of India. DJ Daksinamurti, who is compiling the cd, has finished the tracklisting of this double cd with tracks ranging from darker night time full on over twilight to melodic full on. The release will be a cooperation between Dacru Records and the Indian label Rudraksh records. You can check out the tracklisting below. And of course when we know about a fixed release date and other infos you'll be the first to hear about it. And we'll also provide some info on the two exiting organisations we will be supporting.

This past weekend the fresh acts at Dacru records Aquila and Sufi were playing at a Trance Mafia party in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They performed their live sets next to well known Swiss producer CPU. You can check out a few pictures in our pictures section here on the website. Take a look in the folder '2007'.
Apart from the pictures we also have some videos available at our YouTube page.

The live act Aquila will be available for bookings in Israel from November 16th to 24th. So far Aquila will be performing at the Ninja open air party that's taking place in Tel Aviv on Friday November 16th. Booking request for the week after that can be directed to bookings@dacru.be.

Saturday November 10th the new talent at Dacru records is spreading its wings in The Netherlands. Aquila and Sufi will be playing at a Trance Mafia event at 'De Waakzaamheid', a famous venue in Koog a/d Zaan, which is situated very close to the Dutch capital Amsterdam. They will be performing alongside celebrated Swiss producer CPU. Also the party can count with 3 distinct areas, being the full on mainfloor, an alternative progressive floor and a chill out area. Bonas & Darsim from the befriended Mental Gymnastics crew played a dj set at the Dissonant festival in Antwerp some time ago. They did this alongside Astrix, Xerox & Illumination, Ephedrix and many more. Now, because video's are cool, there's one online of this performence, it can be seen below. The main open air area will take you through a spectrum of psychedelic sounds with Khetzal (live, FR), DigiCult (live), Ephedrix (live), Avigmati (live, FR), Melorix (live), Aquila (live), Sufi (live), Kristian (UK), DJ Chaï (FR), Kairon, Nemesis, Oonah, Matt Loraine (UK), Psychic Om (NL), Marvin Koala (DE), Bonas vs Darsim, Sense, Phoelix, Gnome vs Sjama'dan and Phanthomaz vs Arjuna.
The progressive bunker will see the likes of Sanka (live), R'Deem, Ishtar and Ramses.
We will also have amazing decorations provided by JoTho and Tony from the Amanita Muscaria crew and by our friends from the Mental Gymnastics crew. The Scouts from Mortsel will be building some great constructions as well.
And if all of this isn't enough yet, we're also working on some more surprises, so stay tuned!

We are quite early to announce this, but that's because we are making excellent preparations for a perfect party! :)

On August 14 and 15th of 2007 we'll be doing another Nova's Incident open air party in the south-east of our little country. A lot of names on the line-up are already known. For the main open air area we've got the following live acts: DigiCult, Ephedrix, Khetzal (fr) and Avigmati (fr). And a nice array of dj's: Kairon, Nemesis, DJ Chaï (fr), Oonah, Psychic Om (nl), Bonas vs Darsim, Sense, Gnome vs Sjama'Dan and Phoelix. And in the night time you will also be able to enjoy a cosy progressive set up with music by Sanka (live), Ishtar and R'Deem. More artists are to be confirmed but of course there's plenty of time for that. For now you should just keep the date free in your agenda!

Review:

For celebrating his 5 years working in trance scene, Dacru Records bring the second volume of Orientation series...

Track 1 by Chromosome starts the compilation in a mellow and fast progressive way...it has a power bassline, some percussions mixed with harmonious synth sounds, some vocals with effects...

Track 2 by Aquila has a strong and groovy kick bass line, very agressive and rhythmic...some melodies going in and out, good breaks, nice morning feeling.

Track 3 is a collaboration by Digicult and Ephedrix...is a bit more fast (148 bpm) and more agressive, althrough it has that morning feeling too...groovy and strong bassline, some spacial melodies, perfect for a big summer festival.

Track 4 by System Failure is my favourite here...it has a really killer kick bass line, some digital and electrifying melodies, really nice construction, perfect :)

Track 5 is a remix of the well known Avenida de Bélgica by Perplex...it has that Perplex’s groovy bassline, nice and simple synth sounds, some classic guitar riffs, I like it.

Track 6 is another remix, this time Solar System remixing Voyager from Bamboo Forest...this one is very fulfilling, it has some psy tunes, open hihats, some vocal samples, very psychedelic.

Track 7 by Electro Sun is another dancefloor fullon bomb...strong kick bassline, beautiful morning melodies, great energetic breaks, Electro Sun’s style :)

Track 8 is done by Didrapest and is a bit more psychedelic...it has a deep and groovy bass line, some pacific and open psy sounds going around and a nice and solid construction.

Track 9 by Twilight continues in the same style but this time with a more pacific kick bass line...it takes you into a kind of a synthetic morning soundscape, with some quiet arpeggios going in and out.

Track 10 is a collaboration of Digicult with Dj Oonah and is a bit more fast...I think that they could choose a track with less bpms for ending the compilation...aside from this, it has some uplifting melodies, a fast and groovy bass, rhythmic and danceable.

I think this second volume of Orientation shows the kind of sound that we can expect by Dacru Records, morning and psychedelic fullon for killing worldwide dancefloors :)

We are very pleased to let you know the next release on Dacru records is coming soon! The release date will be set in about a month from now. The title of the compilation is Orientation Vol. 2 and will again be compiled by label A&R DJ Nemesis.
The release will be in November for a special occasion: the 5 year anniversary of Dacru!! And for this reason we have an amazing tracklist ready. We will provide more info here soon enough, for now we can already let you know about some special things to expect from the Dacru side: a DigiCult vs. Ephedrix track, DigiCult ft. DJ Oonah and a DigiCult track remixed by one of todays top artists!

Saturday June 24th is the time for the next Dacru party. We've had a long break from the party organising business, but glad to be back! We are joining the Mental Gymnastics forces in a coalition to get this one organised! Cooperations can often bring nice things and it's no different this time!
The event will be the release party for the first upcoming compilation on Dacru records, named Orientation Vol. 1! And we've got a superb line-up ready. Top of the bill is coming from Switzerland and listens to the name of Freakulizer. Next to the Freakulizer live act we have DigiCult ready for a first live act in Belgium in over half a year!
Also the dj line-up is a must with names like these: Kristian, Thujon, Nemesis vs Oonah, Sense vs Jonas and Darsim.
And not only the ears will be spoiled, we're also taking care of some amazing eye candy! For this we invited a terrific vj team from Italy: Palantir! And from Belgium we have the visuals from Krakoog.
To top it all of the event is taking place in the center of our home beautiful home city Ghent!
